Description:
Given the name *Heavy Industry*, it comes as no surprise that this latest release from Zero-G is designed to immerse the user in the sonic atmosphere of an urban, industrial world.
In terms of sound, this product firmly belongs to the category of cinematic soundscapes. The samples are organized into several groups, including collections of "Alarming Noises," "Atmospheres," "Drones," and various sound effects ("FX" and "Short FX"). The "Atmospheres" and "Drones" categories form the core of the library, and they deliver exactly what one would expect. For instance, all 70 samples in the "Atmosphere" category exceed 20 seconds in length, serving as excellent, soundscape-style background foundations. While they can stand alone in shorter musical segments, layering three or four of these samples together makes it easy to craft longer, sonically rich compositions. The 60 "Drone" samples—which vary in duration, ranging from short to long—can be utilized in much the same way. The mood of the sounds in both groups is precisely what you’d anticipate: they are perfect for creating music that evokes a dystopian world, reminiscent of *Blade Runner 2049*. Individual samples from the "Alarming Noises" or "FX" folders can be used to add striking sonic accents, highlighting specific on-screen events or editorial cuts. The library also includes a folder containing kick drum and hi-hat loops, as well as standalone kick drum samples. And while they are quite good in their own right, their presence feels somewhat unexpected against the backdrop of the rest of the content. To expand your collection of soundscapes, you could incorporate rhythmic elements—utilizing a dedicated drum library if necessary. In fact, adding elements like a kick drum or hi-hat to drone- or soundscape-based compositions can be a highly effective way to inject dynamics and edge into the music.
